If you see Idaho Transportation Trucks with snowplows still attached driving on bare roads, there's a reason.
They're doing "Rock Patrol's" on highways that have a history of rockfall like Highway 55 between Banks and Cascade.
This is the season when snow melt, rain and rising temperatures loosens the soil holding the rocks back.
But if they come down the trucks are already equipped to push them out of the way before they become a traffic problem.
