There was less goose poop over the winter in Ann Morrison Park thanks to a pilot program allowing dogs off-leash.

The program ends today Feb. 28.

Park officials worried about public safety and long term damage to grass areas due to hundreds of geese wintering in riverside park.

Dogs have been able to run off-leash since December and it appears to have worked.

In January last year 485 geese were counted...this year the number was 10.
