(BOISE, Idaho) -- A former employee of the Bureau of Land Management was sentenced Monday to one year in prison for theft of government property.
Katrina Telleria, 35, pleaded guilty in December after she was caught using her government-issued credit card to purchase general-use gift cards. Telleria then stole the gift cards, a total value amounting to $71,973, according to the Idaho Press-Tribune. The judge also ordered her to pay back that total in restitution.
According to the Press-Tribune, Telleria, who was employed by the BLM from 2008 until 2011, was authorized to use her government-issued credit card for purchases that include an incentive gift card program for the Boise District Office Fire Program.
