(BOISE, ID) -- Boise firefighters, along with Kuna and Meridian Fire crews, extinguished a five acre grass fire that briefly threatened nearby homes on Tuesday afternoon.

Firefighters were called to the scene at 12:30 p.m. on the northwest corner of South Cloverdale and West Columbia Roads. The fire was being fueled by fields full of light grasses, willows and cattails. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The fire was put out in under an hour, and the flames never reached within 50 yards of the houses.
