The Start Of A Trend?

Apr 29, 2013 -- 11:30am

So the NBA has a "current/active" player announce that they're homosexual. Now what? There might be others coming out depending on the response from sports fans, players and coaches. Do they care? Do you care?

Does a players preference effect how you cheer or who you cheer for? (or against?)

Maybe you cheer morals. If that's the case, stop watching pro sports. Pride, lust, greed, wrath, gluttony, sloth, and envy can be found within every single pro athlete.

How Much Is Enough?

Apr 03, 2013 -- 3:30pm

On April 2nd, a woman was sentenced for 15 years in jail with a possibility of parole after 2 years after she plead guilty. An accident she caused, killed a 5 year old boy. She was under the influence of prescription drugs.

Go to adasheriff.org whenever you get the chance and count how many are charged with DUI. (be it prescription drugs, illegal drugs or alcohol) I checked on April 2nd and counted over 30, just in Ada County alone. Average sentence: 1-3 days in jail, 30 days suspended drivers license, fine, alcohol class and community service.

This obviously isn't punishment enough.

March Distractions

Mar 22, 2013 -- 12:50pm

Spring is here. Its supposed to get warmer, stay light longer, and of course, there are brackets. An outplacement firm estimated that this year’s tourney will cost U.S. businesses more than $130 million in lost productivity. All for what? According to the state of Idaho, there are over 48,000 people unemployed in Idaho. People want jobs. Competition is at an all time high for positions. "Get back to work!" usually comes from a boss, manager or owner. If you don't work in the sports field and you're dedicating any of your "work time" to "check your brackets", you're stealing from your employer, being less productive and weakening all of us.

But what about work place morale?

If you're asking this question, you better be in charge! If you're not, "get back to work".

"Status" Quo?

Feb 05, 2013 -- 3:08pm

Once again, proving that real life is more entertaining (and more frustrating) than fiction, I give you Representative John Conyers.

"I hope no one uses the term 'illegal immigrants' here today," said Committee Ranking Member John Conyers of Michigan. "Our citizens are not illegal—the people in this country are not illegal. They are out of status. They're new Americans that are immigrants, and I think we can forge a path to citizenship that will be able to pass muster."

OUT OF STATUS?!?! THEY'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE HERE! THEY'RE TRESSPASSING! THEY'RE ILLEGAL!

Going to prove that some actually believe that if you change the language, you change the action.

Super Controversy

Jan 31, 2013 -- 2:31pm

I couldn't make it up. The following is true:

The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee is offended by a Coke commercial scheduled to run during the Super Bowl this Sunday. They even go so far to call the commercial "racist". http://news.yahoo.com/arab-american-groups-call-coke-super-bowl-ad-184628066--nfl.html

I call the commercial "lame".

Watch for yourself!

He's making a list

I've been hearing this around town a lot lately, "If you're bad. Santa won't get you any presents!"

Does anyone really follow up on this? (Besides my parents in 1982) Should "bad kids" get coal and no presents?

Well, if you're asking the guy with no kids, my answer is YES!

I'm a people watcher by nature, in the malls, around town, coffee shops, etc. I've endured 10 months of "countdowns", "time-outs" and barganing only to have the parent give in out of frustration or possible embarassment.

Now parents request help from Santa. Should Santa pick up where they leave off?
