College of Western Idaho Community Education's 2nd Annual Kids College! (Kids and family)
Location: CWI Main Campus Nampa
Coming Soon! CWI Kids CollegeKids College is focused on inviting kids of all ages to visit the college and participate in classes of higher learning. Here are just some of the classes kids enjoyed this past Summer:Pen and Ink Drawing Jewelry Making American Sign Language Social Graces for Girls Acting and Storytelling Bike Safety and Repair Come join the fun! This summer we are planning to offer Theater/Music/Art/Science/Math and much more!
Meridian Valley Human Society (Community)
Time: 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Event: We’ve teamed up with MVHS for the adoption of animals. The Meridian Valley Humane Society (MVHS) is an all volunteer non-profit organization that provides compassion and adoption for the abandoned and stray animals housed in the small Meridian Animal Shelter. The volunteers work tirelessly to walk and play with the dogs several times a day, work adoption shifts so that we can be open to the public, create and maintain our website at www.meridianvalleyhumanesociety.com , fundraise, transport dogs to veterinarians so they can receive spays or neuters, and the care they need, provide foster homes to the young, old, and stressed dogs, work closely with other rescue organizations, and so much more. Stop by and take home a new family member!

Nordic Pole Walking Clinic - Fittrek BasicsWhen: Every Thursday beginning Aug 28 Time:5:30-7:00 pm Session I7:15-8:45 pm Session IIEvent: Fittrek Nordic Walking Basics *Session I&II - prepares the new Fittreker with safe and proper form and technique for Endurance Nordic walking on most level surfaces. This session is for individuals experiencing no walking disabilities of stability or balance and who can walk at a moderate pace consecutively for whole session.These Sessions covers:Pole and tip features and maintenance and uses, Proper Arm & leg synchronicity, Proper ArmMotion, Proper ole angle, pole height and tip placement for Open-hands, Full and Standard PowerTechniques, Road Technique; Common Beginner Poling Errors, Proper warm-up, cool-down and stretching, Handouts, Card of Completion *Basic Session I & II must be completed prior to participating in Fittrek Plus and FittrekExpedition Workouts and Weekend Fittrek Adventures.
