Sick cows in Idaho?
A beef cattle herd in Eastern Idaho is quarantined. The infectious disease Brucellosis has been found in a beef cow in Idaho and officials are scrambling to see if the infection has spread to other herds. The Idaho Dept. of Agriculture sent a memo to health officials saying no calves or bred females have been sold from the herd. Epidemiologists are trying to determine the source which can cause spontaneous abortions and infertility in cattle. Brucellosis is is rarely transmitted to humans.
