Swine flu in Idaho

Reports of people suffering flu-like symptoms are widespread across Idaho. There have been 120 additional confirmed swine flu cases in the past week. Hospitals say there were 27 people hospitalized during the week. Swine flu has contributed to the deaths of seven Idahoans. Reports of additional deaths are under investigation to determine whether swine flu was a factor. As of Tuesday, Idaho has received 73-thousand-800 doses of the vaccine. New shipments are arriving each week. Health officials say they will open two swine flu vaccination clinics in Boise on Saturday as planned. There will be roughly 25-hundred doses of the vaccine available between the two sites;one in the old K-mart building on ParkCenter Boulevard and the other on North Milwaukee in the old Comp USA building. There will be more nasal spray than injectable vaccine which will further limit who will be able to get a vaccination. The mass vaccination clinics scheduled for Friday in Nampa and for next Tuesday in Homedale will be rescheduled. But Southwest District Health spokesperson Laurie Boston tells 670 KBOI News this Saturday's clinic at the old Sportsman's Warehouse in Nampa is still on.
